Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos, is a Mexican celebration of life and death. This is a holiday where families welcome back the souls of their departed ones with altares de ofrendas. These ofrendas are full of color and traditional elements such as religious imagery, sugar skulls, candles, papel picado, catrinas and photos of the deceased. The souls feast on the dishes and drinks and they loved and are welcomed by the cempasuchil flower and copal aromas.
